ABOUT THE ARTIST

I was born in Lima, Peru and have been living in Montreal, Quebec since the age of 5. Growing up as an immigrant here has given me the opportunity to embrace the culture and blend it to my South American roots. I speak Spanish, French and English (and a little bit of Italian).

I've always been passionate about art, especially drawing and painting. Some of my favorite artists are Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter and Jean-Paul Riopelle. Inspired by the many textures found in nature and in urban surroundings, I enjoy using any kind of found objects to incorporate in my pieces. Old alley walls are also an influence. Acrylic paint and medium on canvas are the main materials I work with. I like to evoke feelings, memories and experiences by showing you the walls of my soul…

A quick look at my background… I studied Fine Arts (Painting and Drawing) at Concordia University, in Montreal. I am enjoying a career as a graphic designer and art director for the last 15 years, but I'm increasingly feeling the need to paint and share my artwork.
